NEPRA notifies tariff hike for distribution companies
KARACHI: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Sunday notified an increase of Rs1.98 per unit for the month of April 2012 under the monthly fuel price adjustment, Geo News reported.
The assessed fuel charges adjustment of Rs1.98 per unit for April is higher by Rs0.1912 per unit than Rs1.7918 per unit for the month of March, therefore, effectively, there will be an increase of Rs0.1912 in the utility bills on the same account as compared to March, the notification said.
According to the notification, the above adjustment will be applicable to all the consumer categories except lifeline consumers of all the power distribution companies (Discos) except Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC).
The said adjustment will be shown separately in the consumers’ bills on the basis of units consumed and would be recovered in the billing month of November 2012, the notification added.
